💵 THE DOLLAR BILL METHOD

What you need: One US dollar bill (or any paper bill/note from your country) and a ruler

Why this works: A US dollar bill is exactly 6 inches (15.2 cm) long – the perfect tool for measuring your wrist!

Steps:

  1. Wrap the bill around your wrist just below the wrist bone (the narrowest part)

  2. Note where the end meets – if it overlaps, your wrist is smaller than 6 inches; if it doesn’t reach, your wrist is larger

  3. Measure the gap or overlap:

    • If the bill overlaps, estimate how much (e.g., “overlaps by about ½ inch”)

    • If it doesn’t reach, see how much more length you need

  4. Calculate your wrist size:

    • Overlap by ½ inch → Your wrist is about 5½ inches

    • Needs ½ inch more → Your wrist is about 6½ inches

No dollar bill? Any bill works! Check your local currency online – many banknotes have standard sizes:

  • Euro: €5 note is 12 cm long

  • British Pound: £5 note is 13.5 cm long

  • Canadian Dollar: $5 bill is 15.2 cm long
